MARC YEATS LANDSCAPE PAINTINTERMarc Yeats is an abstract landscape artist working in oils, acrylics and mixed media. Marc paints land & seascapes around Suffolk, Norfolk, Dorset, and the chalk downland of Southern England.
I am a painter and composer, two areas of work closely linked by techniques developed over many years with compositions influencing new approaches to painting and techniques in painting influencing musical development.
Although interested in surfaces represented in sound, colour, form and texture, my work is further influenced by a fascination with layering, geology, erosion and landscapes.
I began painting professionally in 1977. Paintings have been sold privately and through public and private galleries including most recently:
• ‘Stillness in Movement’ a large, commissioned solo exhibition involving my paintings and music at An Tuireann Arts Centre, Isle of Skye
• ‘Sound as I See It’ a solo installation (paintings and music) in the Alsop Gallery, Bridport Art Centre, Dorset
• ‘The Observatory’ a painting and composition residency hosted by SPUD with an exhibition in Lymington Museum and a concert in the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle, Lymington.
